Pulse Jet Baghouse for Lead Oxide Battery Manufacturing Plant

Recently IAC completed an extensive baghouse project that included the complete design, engineering, equipment fabrication, removal of existing baghouse and ductwork, installation of the new baghouse and ductwork, and the start-up and commissioning of the equipment at a lead oxide battery manufacturing facility.

This pulse-jet baghouse design features two fans allowing for maintenance on one module and/or one fan while keeping the system online to continue production and improve plant performance. Each module is 16,500 cfm (33,000 cfm total) and has 240 filter bags each with PTFE membrane enabling the highest filtration efficiency and minimal particulate buildup on the bags (dustcake).

The baghouse’s walk-in plenum allows for filter change-outs inside of the enclosure, containing dust and debris within the collector. Change-outs can easily be completed in any weather conditions due to the insulated enclosure around the collector with direct access to HEPA filters, which filter 99.999% of particles down to 0.3 micron.

IAC’s installation of our Smart Plant Remote Monitoring System with multiple data points at the facility provides real-time views of the baghouse operations, eliminating the need for manual inspections. Plant personnel can be alerted via email or text enabling them to react to a disturbance immediately, which reduces unscheduled downtime.
